David Depasquale is an audio producer, recording and mixing engineer, video producer, musician and founder of SpineSplitter Studio, established in Malta in 2007.
With a background rooted in music, performance and technical learning, David developed his production approach through years of hands-on work in recording, mixing, mastering and creative project development. What began as a passion for guitar and heavy music grew into a long-term career working with artists, bands and clients across a wide range of productions.
Through SpineSplitter Studio, David works both with artists who arrive with completed material and with clients who are still at the idea stage. A project can begin with a reference track, demo, beat idea, stylistic direction or basic song concept and be built from the ground up — including original beats and instrumentals, arrangement, instrumentation, song development and full production. Recording, editing, mixing and mastering can then take the project through to the finished release.
This approach spans metal, rock, hip hop, electronic, orchestral and alternative work. Some projects require engineering and finishing; others require the music itself to be created and developed. You do not need a finished song to start.
His work also extends beyond the studio into video filming and editing, live event production and coordination, synchronised live visuals, teaching and course development in audio production, and television sports feature filming and editing.
David is also an active musician with long-term involvement in bands including Abysmal Torment, ClubMurder, DiggerThings, Matthew and The After Party and more, bringing practical real-world performance and production experience into every project.
